CAN'T GET TO THE POLLING PLACE?

Even if you will be unable to get to the polling place on election day, your vote is still vital.  There are a number of ways that you can still have your voice heard.

PRE-POLLING:  The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) will set up pre-poll locations in cities and most major regional centres.  At pre-poll locations you will be able to cast your vote prior to election day.  Closer to election day the AEC will announce pre-poll locations on their website.  See here for further information.

POSTAL VOTING:  If you meet the AEC's guidelines you may be able to cast your vote via postal voting.  YOU MUST APPLY TO THE AEC TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR POSTAL VOTING.  To apply for a postal vote, please download, complete and return a Postal Vote Application Form.  Tasmanians can download the form from this link.

OVERSEAS VOTING:  The AEC has a number of options for voters who will be overseas, including operating Overseas Voting Centres in selected Embassies around the world.  See here for further information.
