Senate Candidate

Glynn Williams is the Deputy to Jacqui Lambie in the JLN and is standing alongside Jacqui for the Senate in Tasmania for the Jacqui Lambie Network.

Glynn says, “I believe that I have the ability to win a seat alongside Jacqui and to hold onto the seat well into the future.  Years ago I made a commitment to help Jacqui wherever I could and I will proudly do so for as long as I have the privilege.  My optimism is a result of the belief that I have in the people of this state, a state which I have called home my entire life.”

The JLN is aware that the choice that Tasmania faces in 2019 is a unique one, where if two JLN Senators could be elected the party may hold the balance of power in the Senate.

Glynn is well known in public life across the state, being a senior legal practitioner and a well known farming identity through his involvement in poppy growing and in particular being the face of Poppy Growers Tasmania as its President from 2009 to 2015.

Glynn operates a mixed farm at North Motton on the North West Coast, growing poppies, kindler potatoes and with a large beef herd.  Glynn understands what it means to be a farmer from the ground up, having taken over the family farm from his parents in 1992, at the same place where he now lives with his own family.

A majority of elected politicians have no life experience and are either dominated by their paid advisors or are dominated by bureaucrats, or both.  Not many have the life skills and experience that Glynn does.  With Glynn’s life experience, farming knowledge, skills as a lawyer and community leadership Jacqui Lambie will be well supported in getting things done for Tasmania.

Our communities need better quality services including quality health care, education funding, and support for all primary producers and industry.  A real change, and the prospect of a successful future will only come through a strong Senate team for Tasmania, working for the state and not the party, which can deliver and focus on the people of Tasmania. That is the JLN and Glynn Williams is a key part of the JLN team.
