Candidate for Lyons

Michael Kent is a true stalwart that has stood time and again for Tasmania.

From humble beginnings as a shop keeper’s son, he has evolved into a dedicated community leader.

Michael, the current Mayor of Glamorgan Spring Bay Council, previously served as the chief commissioner of the Tasmanian Football League and was a previous nominee for Australian of the Year.

The successful supermarket magnate has been a giant in the Tasmanian community for over 50 years, having overcome liver failure and cancer (twice), Michael continues to serve his community having helped raised millions for charity. He did all this while also being the loving father of eight.

Michael knows the destruction that alcohol and substance abuse can bring to a family but is also compassionate in knowing we need to have the proper corrective treatment to reach positive outcomes.

He has seen consecutive governments fail to address the needs of the community. Millions of Tasmanian tax dollars squandered for poor education standards, mediocre health services and public housing debt.

He's had enough.

That's why he's running as a Jacqui Lambie Network candidate to represent Lyons in state Parliament.
